Amongst all the self-help and personal development books I’ve read, this one has got to be the one that changed my life the most.
Yes. Changed my life.
You know those moments wherein you feel like you have such good momentum with a task or piece of work? That satisfying feeling you feel when you are so focused and involved with the task at hand? That is we call flow states or flow – “deep enjoyment, creativity, and a total involvement with life”. Well, this book is basically proving that you can wire your brain into achieving this optimal experience EVERY SINGLE DAY. And I mean, heavy proving. Like a lot of science-based research. In fact, this book is used as reference in endless amounts of personal development and philosophy books. So.. if you don’t really care for a heavy read with a lot of semi-scientific explanations of how you’re brain works, maybe you should sit this one out. Because I must admit, there were times I needed to re-read some pages just to digest it better.
But if you have the time, I HIGHLY recommend to read this book. You’ll learn brain-hacks that could help in every aspect of your life. You’ll understand yourself on a deeper level as this book lays out answers on why we are the way we are, or why we make the choices we do. When you know and study yourself more, you start to grow this awareness of the small decisions in your life that make the most difference. It’ll also teach how to stay in the state of flow for long periods of time.
With these vital lessons and perspectives, I guarantee that this will help and inspire you to achieve all your personal goals in life.
